This gas soldering iron does not need a cable. Adjust the power to
its maximum of 120 W and the iron heats up quickly. The small
conical tip which comes with the iron is all you need for the
electrical work on board. Without any tip, the soldering iron becomes
a very useful little blowtorch. Furthermore, there are lots of
accessories:
Our opinion
While doing his work, Daniel has tested lots of gas soldering
irons. He bought some and tried others on client's boats. Since 2005,
our entire team uses the Solderpro-120, which has the longest operating time
and witch is sufficiently powerful to solder outside, even with wind.
How-to
Fill up the iron using recharges sold for cigarette lighters. To
switch it on, just push up the red button, gas streams out and a
piezoelectric mechanism starts the combustion. After work, switch
the iron off and replace the cap. The cap impedes switching the iron on
again and covers the still hot tip to prevent accidents.
